Rexford is located deep in the timberlands of northwestern Montana, north of Libby along Lake Koocanusa and just seven miles south of the Canadian border. Population is 105 as of 2010. The town was moved two miles from its original location on the Kootenai River when the 420-foot-high Libby Dam was built creating the 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa. This reservoir provides excellent recreational opportunities for boating, fishing, and camping. Rexford has direct access to boat ramps, RV parks, and cabins. Every year they have the West Kootenai Annual Amish Community Auction in the first part of June which draws thousands to the area.
