Welcome to beautiful NorthWest Montana. To help you on your visit we have divided our Area Info into two regions; Glacier Country and the Flathead Valley and the magnificent remote wilderness communities of Kootenai Country.
The Flathead Valley is the gateway to Glacier National Park and home to both Big Mountain ski resort and Flathead Lake – the largest freshwater lake found west of the Mississippi. Glacier Country includes picturesque towns, championship golf, museums, galleries, shopping, fine cuisine and surprisingly mild weather for an area so far north.
Kootenai Country is in Lincoln County located in the northwest corner of Montana. 76% of Lincoln County belongs to the Kootenai National Forest, which offers high craggy peaks, deep canyons, and mixed conifers that stretch from the Canadian border (only 5 minutes from Eureka) to the Clark Fork Valley.
